I thought some of you might get a kick out of this old scan I found from a magazine that came out a few years back (an insurance industry magazine of all things!). I seem to remember they were having a big industry shindig in San Diego, so there were write ups of interesting things to do, places to eat, etc... They asked if a photo of me could be used for a haunted restaurant, to which I happily said yes. The description might not be so far off ;)

"Ghostbusters have reported seeing a misty spectre of a Victorian woman dressed in white, drifting or floating through the building, sometimes passing through walls and closed doors or sitting at a corner table, according to San Diego magazine. The woman's expression has been reported as sad, or sometimes angry. She never seems to interact with anyone that sees her, but just appears then vanishes."

[livejournal.com profile] bluegirlb, this is the ad for the restaurant I was telling you about ~ maybe we should all go check it out when we're in the area... Now, do I wear an ivory Dracula's Bride Gown just to give everyone a proper fright? ;)

Lovely as usual :) That was great, and I think the gown would add the perfect atmosphere to the restaurant! Perhaps the Victorian spectre would appreciate your presence, and perhaps a business card ;)

As luck has it, we do have plans to go to the area before too long ~ so it's a possibility! I should bring the article with me :)

When will you be in San Diego?

There's a slight chance R and I will be in that area for Christmas. Still working out the trip, and it may not happen.. but if it does.. maybe we could cross paths again!

*joyburst*

And yes, pack a white Dracula's Bride dress to wear to that restaurant! That sounds like a lot of fun :D Just be sure to ask for extra napkins.. as I remember, molé sauce is made with chocolate and is rather dark!

Well we can always check it out, but I'm quite happy to go wherever you'd like ~ plus I don't know how pricy it is, etc...

Totally looking forward to spending some time with you on your home turf!

I looked up Rancho's (the veggie Mexican place) and while I had a good experience the one time I went, it looks like it's very hit and miss on both service and quality. The online menu for El Fandago does appear to have specifically veggie options, and since it's in Old Town, it might be neat to look around there as well, and maybe even visit the Whaley House. ;)

I had thought to suggest the ghost tour (in a black trolley lit underneath with a black light, with velvet-draped windows and lantern lighting! Of course complete with an in-character guide) which leaves from Old Town and ends with the Whaley House, but the one house I -know- you would swoon over is currently closed for renovations. Without it the $40 per person price tag just doesn't seem justified.

The trolley sounds awesome, but $40 per person ~ ouch! That should *include* dinner ;) Speaking of which, we can always just wing it with that too ~ I'm sure just about any place we stumble upon is going to be excellent, especially given the good company :)

Including dinner would be nice, especially in the lovely music hall at the Villa Montezuma. Unfotunately, that's the place that is currently closed. As much as I understand their concern about no photography, I wish I had more to remember it by!

But yes, I doubt we'll have fun regardless. :)

Wow! That is *gorgeous*.

Not allowing photography in a place like that is sacrilige! Is the outside all covered with scaffolding, or can you still see it from the outside at least?

Yep, you've got great taste :)

"Is the outside all covered with scaffolding"

You know, that's a good question!
