Our good friends Monica ([livejournal.com profile] anafae1) and William (the artists behind Faith and the Muse ~ above is a photo Curse took of Monica in an outfit I made for her to wear at their recent tea party performance) have an opportunity to make a dream of theirs come true ~ with everyone's help! For years now, I've watched as they've been working towards the goal of someday founding their own animal sanctuary/natural haven ~ they've learned so much about how to work with nature to make the most of the land and bring the full potential of what it has to offer back to life, as well as how to care for, protect, and nurture the many creatures who have found themselves in need. An ideal parcel of land has become available just outside of Los Angeles, and they are relying on a community spirit to help band together and make it possible for them to purchase it and turn it into something truly special for the future.

Of course, I want to do everything I can to help make this possible for them ~ as quickly as possible while the land is still available. Currently, anything you want to purchase from either my One of a Kind or the Pale Court tribute pages will have 100% of the proceeds going straight to William & Monica for Ars Terra. The only thing I'll need is the $ for shipping, otherwise, I'm basically giving the items away!

If there's nothing on my One of a Kind page or the Pale Court tribute page that you're interested in, please still consider making a donation by following the banner link below. If you can't make a donation (but please try ~ every little bit *will* add up!), perhaps you could mention this in your own journals to help spread the word...

I saw recently with the Phoenix Parade just how quickly we can all band together by doing whatever it is we can ~ big or small ~ to make something magical happen. Monica said it will be that same kind of community spirit which will be needed to carry this dream through as well :)

You can read more about their vision here:

Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help!

You've definitely been doing your part ~ even with things as simple as your worm farm :)

Isn't the land they found just beautiful?!!!

Thank you Donna! It was a different look for her (softer and more romantic), but I thought she was such a vision out in that garden setting... I should post a photo of the peacock gown I made too ~ did you get to see it at the Sunday night show?

I'm still kind of the same, dealing with the pressure in my ears, but hopefully that will fully work itself out before too long. It's lame though because I have to keep things on the quiet side until things get better, and Curse is performing tomorrow night at a local event so I may have to miss that and I really wanted to go. Ah well, enjoy all the noise you please at Dark Arts for me this weekend, and have a great time! :)

Kambriel,
I would love to send them 50.00 towards the animal sanctuary. It is not alot right now, hopefully there will be more. Can you find out how/where I can directly send this?
This hits home to my heart more than most.
My Dad's best friend was Bill Valiere (famous Canadian) who owned an endangered animal sanctuary.
Growing up, I got to play with Lioness's, panthers, ocelots, snakes of all kinds as well as many other endangered, abused exotic animals brought to Canada and taken out of their environment.
My favorite friend was Baby a 220+ lb loiness whom when I was small I rode around the animal sanctuary.

You can donate directly here:

What a fantastic place that must have been as a backdrop for some of your childhood memories! I'd love to see pictures of you riding a lion ~ I can imagine it so clearly :)

YeaYeaYeaY!

Way to go Kambriel... I'm still figuring out what I can do to raise money, apart from obviously plundering my savings account!

O.T.: My laptop died, so I'm waiting on a new one to start editing on the TeaParty footage... I hope to finish it by the end of this month!

HUGS

Plundering the savings account may be what I have to do too ~ but I can't think of a more worthwhile cause, so if it comes down to that, so be it!

No rush on the footage, whenever it's ready, will be a wonderful surprise :)

Hugs back!

O.K. Mr. Comedian ~ for that you have to make a donation of at least $10... Then you shall be *healed*!

Actually, the name is derived from Latin about making art from the land, but I'm sure you knew that already :)

Right now I don't have two nickels to rub together, but I would if I could.

That's why I "fined" you only $10, otherwise it would have been much higher :D

If you're going to ExMortis say hi to Curse and give him lots of support for his drumming!

I do know and understand fully ~ I was totally just giving you a hard time. If you want to help out though, I may have another idea for you... interested in an Infrawarrior release party to promote Ars Terra as well?

I knew they were Animal People, but I wasn't aware to what extent. How super! Land in the LA area must cost a gahzunta fortune. I'll see what I can do to help. It's pretty tight here, too, and we'll with the (now) 13 barn kittens I will have to place/neuter/spay....but I know what they're doing is needed.

I've often dreamt that if I ever "won the lottery" tht one of the first things I'd do would be to set up a huge animal sanctuary/no-kill haven. Heck, I've got to be already like 1/3 of the way there! ;)

I hadn't heard about the kittens... I wish I were there to help you care for them all.

I know what you're saying is more than just lip service too ~ you go above and beyond to help animals in need. It's one of the things I really like and respect about you :)

We flew over your area on the way home, so of course I was thinking about you!

Well, taking care of kittens is by no means horrible...but I suppose your help wouldn't be turned down. ;P

Jeffrey was sitting with them yesterday and had EIGHT kittens on him all at the same time. It was kitten chaos!

(Three of our "I Need to Spay Them" barn females each had a litter. We have so far *at least* neutered the male tom/daddy cat, Duncan. Mind you all the barn cats are ones that have just showed up and they stick around since I feed them.)

My darling girl...

THANK YOU for spreading the word about Ars Terra, We have all Summer to come up with the downpayment, so we can take donations for the next 3 months! In about 2 months, we'll need to see about taking personal loans to cover what we haven't made, but seriously, if we found 2000 people across the globe who knew our music, who believed in us, and could donate $100, we would have the downpayment and the first year's mortgage. At the same time, ANY donation will be wonderful and will help us move forward. I'll email you later about ideas, I can;t thank you enough for the offer! Lots of love, and greetings to everyone! If you want to see Kambriel's fantastic Peacock dress she made for me, please check the mercyground website (mercyground.com)! XXOO, M
