I wanted to share my new Speakeasy Dress design, as worn by Lindsay & photographed by the glorious Visioluxus!

The Speakeasy dress & La Plume choker are available in my Etsy shop here: http://www.Kambriel.com

And one more treat... a custom one-off gold & black Egyptian revival inspired design for Jola, utilizing tons of vintage beadwork, and dramatically flared off the shoulder pleated charmeuse sleeves extending from the high collared, halter style neckline:

enjoy!

That dress alone is nearly enough to make me wish we all had another fashion show to do together :) It was really awesome of her to give me the opportunity to make such a piece for her!

At some point, we'll just have to come up with an occasion -- you know my belief, have the dress and the party will come to you! ;)

<3!

OMG, the piece for Jola is BEYOND AWESOME. She will look spectacular in that!

Gorgeous work on the Speakeasy dress as well. Not that I would expect anything less. :)

(Also, that Ringmaster coat you've got up on the Etsy shop? That one's not my colors or my size--but I want a version of that like you wouldn't believe.)

I should really work out a catalogue version (from different material since the stretch iridescent garnet is *extremely* limited quantity ~ I think it will be all she wrote after I make a couple of dresses I have in mind for it), but I'd be happy to make a custom one off version of that style for you if you'd like sometime down the road. :)

That was kind of my thought, yes. :) I have some ideas about fabrics but need to do research. And finances have to be sorted out over here as well.

I will be contacting you fairly soon about a different (smaller) custom project, though.

Oh WOW!

Breathtaking! You keep managing to amaze me, even after all these years. Oh wait, that's making us seem like we are ancient or something. *giggles* Not my intention!

Hope to see you in our neck of the woods this fall, we still have some antique shopping in Maine to do!

Ancient Egypt? ;)

I really do want to do that trip sometime! I'd love to head up that way and see the Cure concert too, but I need to see how things work out & save up for a friend's wedding in the UK next year as well... we need a Tardis!

I know things were in a deliriously happy blur that night, but Alice was wearing an extra long version of it at the fashion show paired underneath the re-embroidered soutache bolero and Dianna's patent corset :)

Love the new dress. The Egyptian Revival piece is amazing! The pleated sleeves are so cool I'd be running up and down hallways to see them flow. :o P

Lucky girl! What a gorgeous dress. I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it! It makes me think of a kohl-eyed girl in a Gorey illustration. :)

Of course that's your dress!! See, this is what happens when you say black... gold... Egyptian revival... pleats...!

I hope you'll *love* it. Of course it's a bit on the delicate side with all of that vintage beadwork ~ much of the dress had to be hand-stitched, and it weighs a bit, but hey, Elizabeth Taylor wore a 20 pound golden Cleopatra dress, you can too ;)

Stunning, as always. The custom design is just ... wow.

The custom design came together like magic ~ Jola just gave me some vague suggestions of what kind of style she wanted, and the rest was a total surprise. I really love working that way, since it has such freedom!

Wow! Both are absolutely gorgeous, although as you might have guessed I find the Speakeasy Dress to be quite fantastic. ;)

Yes, I could just sort of kind of see that style on you... but you've got that elaborately feathered version! :)

I do hope she will love it... I felt as if I was making it for some fashion show that isn't even on the horizon yet.

frock envy! They are both so different and stunning in their own unique ways. The beadwork on the black and gold dress is amazing!

Working around all of that beadwork was the bane of my existence for a while there, but I continued to love the dress all the same ;)

just wanted to let you know that (while the dress arrived a few days ago) i just managed to rescue it from the office yesterday and got a good look at everything ... you are DARLING! thank you so much for the books, the Alastair illustrations are so breathtaking - i had seen many of these but not all! you are so thoughtful, i'm very lucky to have a friend like you <3 have tried out the red patchwork skirt - it's wonderful and will suit the burgundy fluevogs very well, please invoice me for a matching shawl because that certainly needs to happen (jbiniek@yahoo.com) or i can send payment as a gift to avoid fees?

anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you!
