Too cute! I always love to see the little duck lines. When I was in elementary school we had a ton of ducks and geese around. Tragic would get held up all the time because the ducks were crossing the street. I thought it was awesome, anyone driving disagreed with me ;)

I remember that happening on a Massachusetts highway, but it was a group of large wild turkeys holding up the traffic instead :)

Probably going to ruin my rep as a dark-spirited beastie, but AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!

It's o.k. ~ the mom duck does have some pretty dramatic black "eyeliner" going on ;)

So adorable! Much better than the spider that came charging at you!

That was one ~assertive~, land-speed record breaking spider. I'm sure he's living a very successful life outside now. Hopefully he picked up a new ascot before heading out ;)

Aww! I love how the one all the way in back looks like it is up to something.

(Incidentally, Make Way for Ducklings is such a great book.)

I also loved that about the one in the back!

Have you ever seen the bronze statue/s dedicated to them in Boston? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Make_way_for_ducklings_statue.jpg

(And felicitations majeurs on the A's!)

I must see that next time I'm in Boston! (I unashamedly admit to riding in a swan boat on the Common because of that book.)

There were goslings in the park by the Hudson earlier today, still at the little puffball stage.

Merci!

edited to correct a vaguely funny/apt typo: I'd typed "nest time" rather than "next time."

Love it! And there's me at the back--stopped to look at something and now can't keep up.

They were really on the move, I'm surprised a relatively clear photo was captured in time before they headed into the cover of the trees. Another picture I took was blurry because their little duck bottoms were waggling around so much :)

Adorable. :-) The turkeys always make me giggle. The ones I've seen have looked so silly and confused. Saw this today and thought you might enjoy it (an barn owl and cat playing together - unbelievable): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iqmba7npY8g

Thanks for the link to the video ~ it seems the two of them have a genuine intrigue in the other and a playful sense of "who's got the upper hand" :) I wonder what kind of time span all of the video clips were recorded on...

I love the part where the owl lands right on the cat's back. <3 Googling hasn't turned up more than other viewers' descriptions of the video. The only extra info is the number of YouTube hits and that the video "most likely comes from Spain." It looks like they were raised together.

There are lots of other videos out there of cat-bird relationships. Cats and budgies, and this one (cat and crow): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0wYaXYwP-w There's an amazing one of a cat and three dolphins dolphins nuzzling each other. I love this stuff...

Anyway the owl and the pussycat seemed to have your sensibilities written all over it.
