For the most part, I didn't take photos of the "before" aspect of all the items, because I was so overwhelmed by the emotions surrounding it all. But I did find a picture I took of one of these projects mid-way through, and thought I'd post it here along with it's "after" photo (with
jrotica modelling it!), just so you could see an example of the progress.
Also, perhaps most satisfying, I have put together an image which shows pretty much *everything* I have completed for Laura (
nvayne).

I was also really touched by something that Daniel wrote today in his and Laura's journals. He's right that I didn't make too big a deal of the amount of work that went into everything, but I know he understands, and thought I'd share his words with you.
"I want to punctuate this by adding that Kambriel sort of understates just how much work went into this. Many of these items were in very, very unfinished states. Some of them had small design errors, and were likely set aside by Laura in frustration, with the intention of coming back to them later. Some of these items were barely cut out. Looking at these photos... I'm totally astounded that Kambriel was able to actually complete all of them in a little over a year. It is completely amazing.
Please buy them. Kambriel is selling them at extremely reasonable prices, and there is a great deal of care and love put into all of them. And they are the last remains of Laura's works, barring a few items I have still. The money for these is going entirely to pay for Kambriel's photographic tribute to Laura, that will be featured in the next issue of Gothic Beauty magazine. There was great expense, as it was shot in England. It is a tribute Laura would have absolutely loved."

Date: 2006-10-13 06:00 pm (UTC)I thought it was cool that you made those bags, too. I was hoping you'd do something with those. Did I send the stamper to you? I can't recall. I know I kept one, but there were a couple at least.

Date: 2006-10-13 06:04 pm (UTC)I was overwhelmed at first too, and could feel Laura's spirit really strongly when I started sorting and organizing all the pieces that day. I put each similar looking set in it's own large ziploc bag to try and keep them together.
It's funny, I don't even know if those were supposed to be bags or not ~ that's just what I decided I could do with them! ;)

Date: 2006-10-13 09:29 pm (UTC)I hope the spread will come out really nicely. In a way, I don't feel like I can really do anything that will be *enough* to do justice for Laura's legacy, but I did what I felt I could...
