For the most part, I didn't take photos of the "before" aspect of all the items, because I was so overwhelmed by the emotions surrounding it all. But I did find a picture I took of one of these projects mid-way through, and thought I'd post it here along with it's "after" photo (with [livejournal.com profile] jrotica modelling it!), just so you could see an example of the progress.

Also, perhaps most satisfying, I have put together an image which shows pretty much *everything* I have completed for Laura ([livejournal.com profile] nvayne).

I was also really touched by something that Daniel wrote today in his and Laura's journals. He's right that I didn't make too big a deal of the amount of work that went into everything, but I know he understands, and thought I'd share his words with you.

"I want to punctuate this by adding that Kambriel sort of understates just how much work went into this. Many of these items were in very, very unfinished states. Some of them had small design errors, and were likely set aside by Laura in frustration, with the intention of coming back to them later. Some of these items were barely cut out. Looking at these photos... I'm totally astounded that Kambriel was able to actually complete all of them in a little over a year. It is completely amazing.

Please buy them. Kambriel is selling them at extremely reasonable prices, and there is a great deal of care and love put into all of them. And they are the last remains of Laura's works, barring a few items I have still. The money for these is going entirely to pay for Kambriel's photographic tribute to Laura, that will be featured in the next issue of Gothic Beauty magazine. There was great expense, as it was shot in England. It is a tribute Laura would have absolutely loved."

By the way, if you can share any high resolution photos of these you have, that'd be great. I'd like to have stuff to print to put in Laura's binders and photo albums.

I can't remember... did I make a cd of images for you when I sent the stones?
If not, I'll work on getting one made for you so you have print-worthy versions.

No, you did not. That would be super cool if you could though! =)

Also, it is interesting you post that piece to demonstrate progres, because I remember looking at that, and putting it in the box thinking, "Well... she might be able to do something with this!"

You really did an amazing job with them.

I'm so glad you went ahead and just sent things that you thought might not have a chance. It was a real goal of mine to try and make ~something~ out of ~everything~ so nothing went to waste. There were only a few things that couldn't be salvaged, but as you can see, it's unbelievable just how much I was able to put together out of all those bags!

Yeah, I know what you mean. At first I was thinking about picking and choosing, then I slowly got very overwhelmed with the process, emotionally as well as just... "What am I looking at??" So I just sent it all.

I thought it was cool that you made those bags, too. I was hoping you'd do something with those. Did I send the stamper to you? I can't recall. I know I kept one, but there were a couple at least.

I'll definitely make you a cd then :)

I was overwhelmed at first too, and could feel Laura's spirit really strongly when I started sorting and organizing all the pieces that day. I put each similar looking set in it's own large ziploc bag to try and keep them together.

It's funny, I don't even know if those were supposed to be bags or not ~ that's just what I decided I could do with them! ;)

Wow, that's quite a fantastic array of garments and fabrics in that photo-collage.. what a wonderful tribute and labor of love, which shows the beauty both you and Laura were gifted to create! Thank you for sharing this. I'm looking forward to seeing the spread in Gothic Beauty too.

I knew a lot of work and care went into it all, but when I started compiling all of those photos together, it really hit home to me all that had been done. Thank goodness all these lovely creations didn't end up going to any kind of waste.

I hope the spread will come out really nicely. In a way, I don't feel like I can really do anything that will be *enough* to do justice for Laura's legacy, but I did what I felt I could...

Thank you. I'm really glad they were able to see the light of day... It would have been such a pity had they not.

It's odd. I was actually *happy* that there was so much to do because it meant getting that much more done for Laura :)

I've posted everywhere, at this point. The Life Toward Twilight blog, the Myspace blog and a bulletin, my Livejournal and I just posted it on the front page of The Pale Court. The Pale Court is being bombarded by hits, too, so I hope that means they are coming from or two your site!

That's really awesome Daniel! It makes me feel so good to know how very much alive Laura still is in so many people's hearts around the world. That's really all I wanted to help do with this... :)
