The Bustle Stalks at Midnight!

My Midnight Bustle Ensemble and matching handbeaded choker designs were chosen to be on the cover of issue 38 of the French magazine Elegy, so I thought some of you might enjoy seeing a preview! The cover shot of Lilah was taken by my deliriously talented friend Nadya Lev, who's also featured in the issue :)

And it's just too cool having it on the same cover with Fields of the Nephilim, New Model Army, Skinny Puppy and Tim Burton, since these are all people whom I've admired since high school! Come on Tim, you just ~know~ you want a little extra help for a future film costuming job... ;)

Followed the trail from ~darkvictoria...I just wanted to say that the dress is so divine. It is something I would truly love to own in the future! I was looking through your journal, and I also noticed that you did the dress for Monica of Faith and the Muse. I bought that issue in large part because her clothing caught my eye! ooh, Elegy was my favorite magazine when i lived in Paris... i still have a few back issues from 1999, and the compilation cds they came with.

so yay! the photo of your work is beautiful (of course, the model's not bad either ;) ).

Thank you! In 2002, when I saw "Elegy" in the shops in Paris, I wanted to get in touch with them, so patience was indeed a virtue in this case. You can still mailorder copies from the US. They have a "comptoir" link on the website and it includes back issues.

Thank you! I just saw that you're heading up to this neck of the woods for the holidays ~ I hope you'll have a safe, happy, and beautiful trip. There isn't any snow planned, but there's lots of snow on the ground just about everywhere but the area near the shore (where I am). You may get rain, so be careful on the road.

I keep forgetting to tell you....my sister is doing a big thesis thing in grad school haveing to do with goth music/culture....and she has rented soooo many books. I was visiting her in NY last weekend....and picked up a book on top of the pile called 20th Century Goth by Mark or Mike????? Mercer....on Page 97 there is the photo of me Curse took in a long black dress that you made (it was put on stickers) and on the page opposite, were two pictures of you, some quotes, and I think even a website for you. Did you know about this? I had to giggle. I pointed it out to my sis, and she said...."oh wow....I didn't even notice you were in this book"

Yes! That book came out very soon after we did that shoot! I could have sworn I told you about that! Did I really not? The editors chose which photos to use, and they must have really liked that one of you in the Dracula's Bride Gown, because if I'm remembering correctly it was the only full page photo in the entire fashion section!

Speaking of which, we should do new photos sometime when things are a bit warmer if you're up for it. It would be so easy since you're in Salem now :)
