It's shaping up to be a wickedly, intensely interesting week to come...

Sorry, I've been scarce, it's just that there's been like three weeks of things to do in about three days, so I haven't had a chance to do a proper update. The quick gist of it is that Sunday we're flying up to NYC where I need to do an in-person fitting, photos, filming a documentary, and I'm also going to be apparently interviewed ~ a ~film~ interview, which I really never do, and am a bit... well, let's just say I tend to be more comfortable in writing. Maybe I should make large cards of text a la Bob Dylan! Then again, I also have to re-evaluate the packing since we were supposed to drive up, but now we're flying since with the impending snow possibilities, it could become a ~very~ long drive.

Anyway, that's the super condensed version... I just wanted to let you all know why I'd be scarce in the coming week. Just busy with preparations (including some last minute twin-set adjustments), and trying to keep up with the rest of "everyday life" as well, including fitting in a couple of rush/custom orders, and well, more but right now... I have to get back to sewing buttons and slipstitching up some sleeve hems.

I've been getting to bed around 4 am lately, trying to burn the candle at both ends. I actually am excited for a quiet couple of hours on the plane come Sunday.

It's because things have been a whirlwind so I haven't been able to really sit and lay out all the thoughts/plans in one place ~ you do know you're supposed to be getting the real-time psychic versions filling you in along the way, right? ;)

Goodness! Have fun lady, I'm sure it'll all be fantastic. :) And hopefully when you get back you'll get a much deserved rest!

I'm definitely looking forward to that rest... On the bright side, I did finally manage to get some sleep :)

That sounds like great fun :)

I hate being filmed, so couldn't really imagine being interviewed - giant Bob Dylan cue cards sound a good idea!

I can't make it down to NYC, wish I could, but it sounds like you won't have a spare moment to breath in anyway :-)

Sadly, that may well be true. That's o.k., I'd rather find the time to have some *low key* time together... take a nice walk around the cemetery when the weather is warmer and there's no risk of tripping over headstones in the snow!

How exciting!! Have a fabulous time and don't be nervous about being interviewed, just be your wicked and sunny self! Safe travels (and squeee for Neil Gaiman!)

Wicked and Sunny ~ I'll try very hard to remember that! Maybe I need a ventriloquists dummy ;)

A tip from someone who's done far too much live TV: Don't think about or talk to the camera. Talk to the person interviewing you. You're just having a conversation with someone, and if it's about your work, a conversation about something you're really, really good at and knowledgeable about. :) The camera's not the focus, it's merely a tool. The conversation is the important part.

I hope you have a wonderful time with all this.

Thank you, I'll definitely do my best to remember that. I just get so perfectionist about things that it makes me freeze up a bit, or at least seem *obviously* nervous. I had that happen to me at the FIT exhibit opening where as soon as we got out of the car, a tv camera was in my face, and I was being interviewed. I was still trying to get some air from being cramped up in the car, awkwardly positioned in back in a corset, so I shudder to think how that turned out! Even the interviewer told me to just relax, so I know it must have been obvious :P
