What I did yesterday!
Oct. 24th, 2005 08:02 pmSo, I've been wanting to share this with you for a while, however I was too superstitious to bring anything up until I finally went through with it...
Yesterday I went into a studio to record some violin parts I wrote for a song called "Fell to Regret" that will appear on Monica Richards' new cd!
Many of you didn't know I play violin, and I hadn't recorded anything in years, so this was a total leap of faith for me (surely there's a Faith & the Muse pun in there somewhere), but all seemed to go very well, with the other people in the studio applauding after I finished my tracks, and if luck has it, you will be hearing me play on her upcoming cd! :)
Most people know me primarily through fashion design, but music's always been a passion of mine. Months ago (yes, I've kept it a secret all this time!), when Monica asked if I would add some violin parts to a new song she was working on, it filled me with a mixture of honor, excitement, and trepidation... I am so glad to have summoned the bravery to go through with it though. The canvas she provided me to work with made the inspiration come easily on a variety of levels, and it was a great feeling to play again!
