Newest creation for Monica

Something quick before I disappear for a few weeks :)

This was made for the recent Faith and the Muse performance at DragonCon, and incorporated fabric from a vintage brocade kimono...

Here she is pictured here with ghost-like Serpentine dancers on either side:



A full length view of the Orientalist robe/dress which was loosely based on my Medea Gown:





This was styled with an open lower front section to showcase the Japanese hakama pants which would be worn underneath:



Scarlet bias binding at the sleeves to pull the black of the sleeve in with the vibrant colours of the rest of the piece:

I found out for sure today that Faith and the Muse aren't going to be playing in Portland this month after all. I don't know what happened but they're off the bill and I am crushed! I won't get to see Monica in her beautiful gown in person. So I am additionally grateful for your photos!

I'm so sorry to hear about the Portland show ~ especially since I know that's really *why* you got the weekend pass to begin with. I'm sure there must have been a good reason for their decision...

I agree! She's one of those people who's radiance makes everything around them even more beautiful than it already may have been.

Also, I think the dress is a testament to your talent. This particular piece, to me at least, shows your ability to pick up on someone's energy, and create something that will resonate with it harmoniously.
