I'm currently working on updating the website's Customer Gallery page, and in doing so, stumbled upon a photo from Emily Ovenden of the Mediaeval Baebes that she sent me a while back from when she requested some clothing designs for an upcoming project. It was a still shot from a video her other band Pythia (far more in the heavy metal vein than the Baebes) was filming at the time.

So... I looked it up on YouTube, and sure enough there was the video, with the black Midnight Bustle, and ivory Dracula's Bride Gown featured throughout... It's always so nice to see the designs out in the world living their lives ~in motion~.

Oh wow, you've updated the site!

The gowns look amazing in motion - you know how much I love the Dracula Bride Gown in motion!!! *lust*

There are so many photos to be added that I'm working on bit by bit... It's been a real trip going through and adding dates in, but I love the sense of history it adds to the page!

Oh I know, plus it shows all the different looks the items can have and just how truly classic the pieces are!

(With us having the same icon, I sometimes think I'm talking to myself!!!)

Sometimes you are! (oops, did I say that out loud???) ;)

Actually, putting the dates in makes me want to unearth some of the *really* early photos... I love that the original customer pictures were always sent through the mail on *developed* prints! I still have a lot of those original letters stashed away too ~ they're such treasures (and people *really* put their all into the aesthetics of their letter writing back then). Ah, gothic mail of the early/mid 90's.

Hahaha! Ah, too true!!!

Oh how I love real mail! I treasure letters, cards, even postcards! My grandfather saved all his greeting cards people sent him, I got the book and it's really neat to look through and see all the different art.

I remember when people took time with penmanship and letters and such! I use to draw on all my envelopes - granted, I drew on anything since I worked at the Psychic Network and I could talk to people and draw. And I worked the graveyard shift, so lots of dead time.

had i shown up in that video climbing out of a black casket with my distressed romeo lace cuffs, i could have only added .243% more goth to it. that's how goth that was.

it was gother than a crying witch.

Oh, you don't think there's another 13% that could be added? How about a crying witch mourning the loss of her bat familiar that had been caught in a giant spiderweb in the moonlit night?

no. the bat would have actually cut nearly an entire percentage point out because it would have cut into the "white dress falling in the woods" montage. pure white contacts are the only thing that could have helped this significantly, by adding .31 to the score, then it would have been 100% PURE GOTH. as it is, it is 99.79% PURE GOTH. if peter murphy kept a locked box behind a secret bookshelf in his house, this is what would be in it.

Indeed ;)

But can you at least indulge me the addition of some pointy-toed buckle boots ~ maybe a few dead roses ~ a weeping willow?

at the expense of what? young lady, at the expense of what? Running through forest in white dress? Sitting in leaves looking longingly at mysterious mask? Long haired man running through woods in white mask? Long haired man stairing anxiously into camera with wolf eyes? Black dress parasol stroll through woods looking for Byron's ghost?

AT THE EXPENSE OF WHAT?!?!?!

I've never heard of this band before {but I confess I'm shite with band names and song titles so I've probably heard them but never really got the name of the band or have long forgotten it} but I'm certainly interested in checking out their music now.
