New York Times ~ Fashion On the Street!

I just found out from a few different (alert!) friends that Tatiana, Jola and I make a suprise appearance in this New York Times goth-centric Fashion "On The Street" piece! The photos are by the endearing NY Times staff photographer Bill Cunningham whom we met at the opening...

Kat and PopTart ~ I thought you'd seen this, but maybe not??? Here's a picture of the two of you from when you were modelling at the opening. It went to print, also in the New York Times ~ you "society gals" you ;)

But man, they are killing me with that green McQueen dress! Don't they know how badly I lust for it! Seeing it in person was... well, wardrobe porn. ;) I wish I could find fabric like that!

Ooooh, and look at Kat and myself, we look like we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves. Oh wait, we were! Too bad I cannot get a hard copy of that - I've been collecting stuff for a scrapbook!

It sounds like you're in dire need of some iridescent green taffeta.

I just have the copy I scanned... I wish I had two so I could send one to both you and Kat! I'm wondering since you have the specific date, if you could ~possibly~ request a copy? (I still need to look up that New York Magazine I was interviewed for as well ~ things were too chaotic at the time to do it!) Otherwise, I could do a higher-res scan for you ~ but you know how newsprint doesn't always scan all that clearly. Just let me know if I can help.

So what town have you travelled to this year, and *not* made the paper? We just scanned in the Tampa one as well!

Yes, I'm sure McQueen will send that dress right over to me, heh! He should.

And thanks to the NY Times backorder policy - I now have two copies of that issue on my way to me! Should be here in a week and a half he said, a bit pricier since it was the Sunday issue, but so well worth it. I mean ::flings hair and smiles coyingly::, it is the Sunday's Society section darling! ::giggle::

Have made it in quite a few papers this year, haven't I? Hahaha!

I had a pretty vivid dream this past weekend, and it was all about contacting you to organize a fashion show/live music event. It wasn't clear why or when...but it woke me from a dead sleep and had a heavy feeling of importance. So I just thought I'd share.
A fashion show doesn't really fit into any of the current events that I'm promoting...but I won't write it off as a future project. :)

*SQUEEEEE!!!*

All my life I've wanted to somehow, someway end up in the Society section of the NY Times!! Eh, not the loftiest goal, but we all have silly little goals in our hearts. And the cool thing is I ended up there without giving up my lifestyle! Yay! K, thank you again so much for the opportunity to attend that event. It was truly special.

Oh sweetie ~ I'm so happy for you!!! I know how much this means to you and if you can't find a copy, I would love for you to have mine if you'd like it. Just promise to make a nice printout for me (my printer's in need of an upgrade and wouldn't do it any justice currently). Then you can send Poptart a good printout for her scrapbook too! Sound good?

You know it was deeply gratifying for me to be able to bring dear friends such as yourself along in this ~ it was a moment I don't think any of us will ever forget. And you're totally right... the best part of all is it happened by way of staying true to ourselves.

Oh wow, that's very kind!! Let me see if I can wrangle my own copy first. I'm going to check the library at school, and if that turns up nothing, I'll call the NY Times. If that turns up nothing, I'd be happy to make beautiful printouts for you and PT!! Thank you so much!
