I think there's just so much to cover in regards to this event, that I'll have to do it in various posts. For now, I'll do the easiest and just link some various coverage the event's been receiving so far!

On our first day in NYC, I found out that the exhibit was featured in the current Time Out New York magazine ~ C & Poptart were kind enough to pick up a copy for me and lo and behold, look what they used! Now *that* was an amazing, unexpected welcome to the city ~ for Fashion Week no less :)

My friend Dianna from Starkers got a mention too and I was so happy to see that!



Here's part of the FIT brochure, and some of the original images within. Wednesday's face was morphed onto a stock museum photo for the Time Out feature ~ can't say I blame them at all, she *is* infinitely prettier than the mannequin!

*EDIT* - I just got an email from Sweden saying,

"I just thought you might like to know that Dr. Valerie Steele mentioned you today in a lecture at University of Stockholm.

The subject was Gothic: Dark Glamour, and she showed a picture of your Isabella coatdress."

Surreal! I can't wait to share my own photos from the event and tell you more about the adventures of Fashion Week in New York!

That wasn't even the ~only~ red carpet we were photographed on (Couture Fashion Week) ~ colour me surprised! I'll work on getting my other photos together too so you can see.

The coolest thing is this exhibit is done with a lot of respect and a genuine admiration for the aesthetic of the scene, and that totally comes across. It's helping a lot of people to look at "Gothic" in a new light :)

I'm glad you got your dress done early too ~ it would be awesome if everyone planned so far in advance ;) (Still got the picnic lurking in the back of my mind by the way ~ maybe the first half of October?)

I will be on pins and needles for that, ya know. I'm such a dork, I have an app. on my iPhone by Conde Nast that updates with photos from the most recent couture runway shows. (I also browsed Andi's website with all the fun photos from my iPhone last night in bed when I couldn't sleep.)

Yes, picnic, absolutely...although I am feeling camera shy, we can still have tea and scones in the Blue Ridge mountains, yes yes!

I'm totally up for just having it be a fun get together with friends. It was crazy, but I went to another exhibit in Boston on Art Nouveau jewelry, and it was such a relief in a way ~ no interviews or paparrazi!

We don't need to do a shoot ~ just soak up the scenery together and enjoy simple things like ~breathing~.

I plan to go up to NYC during the last week of September/first week of October; I've taken off for my anniversary. I'd love to go there while I'm there on the 26th (it would be a great time after the business lunch I am going to at the Capitol Grille), but that is actually my anniversary and I need to get back to to Pa. for dinner with the hubby.
