You know, there's a term for "bridezillas", but the other side of that is there are quite thankfully also some very sweet brides-to-be that are an absolute delight to work with. I just got this treasure of a message from one such lady. I wish we'd taken photos of her outfit and veil before sending them ~ the fingertip length veil was a real work of art with all the ribbon flowers and pearls... Here's her response:

Hello,

My customized Crystal Palace ensemble arrived at my
parents house on Tuesday and I was able to try it on
on Saturday. We were all impressed by how quickly it
arrived and yet the quality of the workmanship. It is
lovely. The ivory brocade you used was gorgeous and
the lace detailing on the sleeves is so pretty and
delicate looking. I was impressed how you captured
what I wanted in the veil you created for me, but also
made it match perfectly with the gown. The entire
look captures the elegance and romance of the
Victorian Era. I can't wait to wear it on my wedding
day. Thank you very much!

Sincerely,
XX

What a lovely comment. That's the joys of working, right there.

I love the fact that she specifically noticed certain things I really put thought into like the special lace I found for the sleeves of her gown and the veil, etc... it was wonderfully nice to hear these details were appreciated!

Yay! A friend of mine is getting married next year and I'm one of the bridesmaids... she's cut straight to calling us brideslaves. Though the groom has warned her that if she goes Bridezilla on him, he's going to go Groomora on her. I think they'll be quite happy together. :)

But indeed, that's got to give one the warm fuzzies, to know that what you do is so appreciated and will help make such a lovely day in her life. :) Hopefully she sends you a photo from her wedding day so we can see it in your customer gallery!

In my mind, it's the "Bride & Gloom"! Can't you just see the embroidered gift towels now?

I've never been a bridesmaid... not sure whether that's a blessing or a curse ;)

Go with blessing on never been a bridesmaid. A teal bridesmaid dress, with teal shoes, and a spray of teal flowers in my hair..that was my all time favorite..not. Maybe she will send a wedding photo.

I can see you're still hurting... did you at least hide all the uber-teal evidence? There is a theory about making the bridesmaids look worse on purpose so a bride will look that much better, but I never understood this mindset because being surrounded by your dearest friends looking their best and happiest is only going to *add* to the overall picture.

Hehe, awww!

I'd guess it all depends on the bride, but this is my first time, so it is only a guess. ;) Though I'm already quite thankful I don't have a Catholic family! As if finding the right wedding dress weren't enough of a challenge! ;) At least she's only joking about putting us in lime 80's style taffeta dresses... I think. Should I ever tie the knot I see it being simple, and would probably look no further than something like your Theda gown and flowers in my hair, a brief sentimental ceremony and a lovely catered party with our friends and family.

Ah, lime ~ the colour of love...

And your wedding vision sounds utterly magical ~ if/when that happens, you let me know!

No kidding... but seriously, we've fortunately been promised a lovely shade of dark purple for our gowns. :)

Oh, I'll certainly mention it. ;)

You are so sweet!

She was quite nice ~ that's the thing, some brides (thankfully not the ones I tend to deal with) can get very forceful thinking that's the way to get things done right or best, but actually, when a person is kind and has a warm spirit, it inspires you to want to work that much harder for them. I think it's important to put a lot of positive vibes into (well anything I make actually, but especially) a wedding outfit, and she made it easy :)
