That's an amazing juxtaposition--the rose bud in the poison bottle. Great composition, too.

BTW, the slinky velvets arrived today and are packed away, awaiting their London debut (once I stopped twirling around in them, in the proper manner of introducing oneself to pretty new clothes). Thank you for sending them out so quickly! I think I am going to cut out the adorable bat picture on the box. :)

Can you tell I was thinking of you? I realized today that the little poison bottle just happens to make a perfect bud vase :) Plus, you get one guess as to where the red mini-rosebud came from... They're still going strong and I'd estimate that we have ~at least~ two dozen blooms currently on them. I just love that the magic from your wedding continues to live on in this way, as well as others.

We need to figure out some dates to see you soon! Will you be up there for the better part of June?

Thank you for the compliment on the photo ~ it was challenging getting all of the separate elements to come together the way I was hoping (there was about ~one~ angle at the time which actually showed the embossed skull design and text clearly, but that angle didn't necessarily work for the other elements) ~ finally it all pulled together and *clicked*.

Your package arrived even faster than I'd have thought ~ that was only within one business day of it being sent! Obviously ~something~ out there wanted you to have your velvet in time for (mis)adventures abroad ;)

Oh, no worries - I recognized the rose! :) I'm still amazed at how hardy those miniature roses ended up being. I'm so glad I pushed for live plants as centerpieces.

We should be up here for all of June. It's crazy to think June is just a couple of weeks away - this year has been FLYING by. I can't wait to see y'all. :D

Oooh! I just realized I missed wishing you a happy Friday the 13th or Walpurgisnacht! Rest assured I thought of you on both days. :) Did you do anything fun/romantic?

Oh dear, just noticed it's the 20th already... you're right, this month is flying by!

I'm looking forward to seeing *all* of you ~ I bet the boys have grown quite a bit since the last time we saw them too :)

We'll let you know when we have the dates figured out. We might actually have to do the trip twice in somewhat rapid succession, which I'd grumble about with all the seemingly endless VA driving, but I know of anyone, you'd really understand what it's like to have to do that on a regular basis ;)
