New York Times ~ this Sunday!

An article I was interviewed for on the subject of Edward Gorey is going to be appearing in this Sunday's "Arts and Design" section of the New York Times!

The original interview was something like 20+ questions long, complete with follow-up questions, but whittled down via the media machine. Perhaps I'll share the rest sometime :) It's such an honour to be part of this since Uncle Eddie has such a strong place in my heart, and there are some incredible fellow designer/artist/authors (Tim Burton, Anna Sui, Daniel Handler/Lemony Snicket, Neil Gaiman...) included in the piece! Can't wait to see how the print edition turns out.

I was trying to remember what Gorey said to us when we went to see him at his signing at the MFA in Boston, something like "the vampires always manage to find me?"

I think what you heard might have come from the conversation we'd been having about other things, one of which was how much he enjoyed watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and then he'd give a sidelong glance towards the rest of our gang in the line and said that :)
