In a sad kind of irony, I was just talking earlier today (hours before the news about Heath broke) about how even if we get to the point where 90% of our life feels like torment, one always needs to do their best to stick in there for the 10% that will be good (and I'm talking good in even the most simple sense or tiniest moment of joy). I think we owe it to those whose lives were stolen away from them far too soon (like my treasured friend
nvayne), to *be* for every day we're blessed enough to be alive and here and able to talk and touch and feel and taste... Even if you feel utterly useless to yourself, there is always something you can do to at least use what you have to help someone else (which ironically, will end up helping you too).
I make it a point to not pass judgement. If Heath's death was an accidental or suicidal OD ~ time will tell. *If* it was suicide, just because his life looked like it had a golden glow from the outside, no one but him truly knew what he was dealing with within himself. His life may have been great by other people's standards, but sometimes people reach a point where happiness and joy is no longer able reach them.
To me, one of the biggest tragedies is that a celebrity gets all the mass "such a terrible loss" headlines and conversations, while lesser-known people die tragic, before-their-time deaths every day... people who sadly *will* pass with barely any notice (and that may indeed be part of why they gave in ~ who knows...). I just hope some of the prayers and healing energy out there go towards those people as well ~ not only the ones that have already passed, but the ones who are struggling with their own inner demons ~ or other illnesses beyond those of the psyche ~ right now.
If nothing else, this sort of thing is always a reminder to let those in your life know how much and why you appreciate them, and to remember that a kind word, or gentle look ~ even for a stranger ~ is never a wasted moment.
~Much love to you all,
